Personally, I find this nice. As it drives me crazy having to stop in the middle of an adventure to go off and level up. Unlike the 2 previous Golden Sun games, this sequel was a bit easier overall (puzzles, battles, etc) but I didn't find it overly easy or annoying. In my personal experience in Golden Sun, (the first game) it followed the basic RPG methods. A hero, his party of loyal friends, journeying through vast seas and scorching deserts, for a noble cause. Because I didn't finish the first game, I was afraid to try Dark Dawn, but the game is completely unique that you don't need to play the first game to enjoy it. It lays everything down to basics so you can get immersed quickly, and it works. Although if you're an experienced RPG player and know the ins and outs, some features come unnecessary.

Nonetheless, the Psynergy mechanic is incredible, the dialogue is great, the story is amazing and the battles are challenging. Undoubtedly one of the best RPGs ever, as always from Golden Sun games.
